In this series we interview leading Architecture and Design experts who share their experience and how they connect between Design, Sustainability and Innovation. Today our guest is Maria Kaltsa of ARCNEST an architecture practice based in Athens, Greece. Maria Kaltsa is an architect. Graduated in 1984 from the post graduate master’s degree program in Architecture from YALE University, and in 1981 from the bachelor of Architecture program of COOPER UNION in New York. Maria established her first office with partners architects James Panagos and Vassilis Papandreou in 2009, and later established ARC NEST in 2017. Between 2016 and 2019 Maria was appointed by the Mayor of the City of Athens as his Adviser for Urban Design, and was engaged in several Municipal projects – which we will talk about. Maria has received several awards and distinctions. In her work she combines the practice of architecture, urban planning, research and experimentation.
