Tribute to Cypriot actress Maria Vassiliou & the movie Evdokia
Maria Vassiliou was a Cypriot model and actress born in London (16 September 1950 – 5 July 1989 ). She became known from the leading role in Alexis Damianos' film, Evdokia. After "Evdokia", Maria Vassiliou played in Homer Efstratiadis' Children of Flowers (1973) and Theo Angelopoulos' Troupe (1975). A little later, her traces were lost. The actress won the best actress award at the Thessaloniki Film Festival in 1971. In this tribute we also pay homage to the making of the movie Evdokia as it is considered a classic by some, & by others as one of the best films ever made in Greece.
