On this episode, George and Maria will discuss the biggest date in the Greek Orthodox calendar (other than Easter), celebrated in Greek communities all over the world but for us, synonymous with Summer!

This is the 15th of August or Dekapentavgoustos as we say in Greek. 

Tune in to hear the about the significance of the day, what it means to the Greeks and where the best places in Greece are to be on this date. Also, we will share some MGI tips and tricks and some personal memories from this day.

• Paros: Celebrations take place in the port town of Parikia where the church of panagia Ekatontapiliani is located. This island is also famous for the Barbarossa festival on the 23rd August too.
• Koufonisi: Where boats leave Ano Koufonisi to visit the uninhabited island of Kato Koufonisi where there is a small church.
