Famed Bouzouki player Manolis Michalakis drops by Ouzo Talk to talk all things Rebetika and the instrument that has come to characterise the genre. Often referred to as 'the blues of Greece', Rebetika is an important part of Greece's musical and cultural heritage, in a marriage of instruments and styles that draw inspiration from ancient Greece, right through to Smyrna in the early 20th century. With the help of our resident Bouzouki expert, George Calopedos, the boys share a few drinks, play some songs and get to the bottom of this important genre.
