16. Jason Rezaian: The covert “Project Avocado” and his imprisonment in Tehran
On the 22nd of July, 2014, Jason Rezaian, a correspondent for The Washington Post in Iran, was arrested with his wife, Yeghane, at their home in Tehran. George Schinas, an iMEdD journalist, met with him in Perugia during the International Journalism Festival and discussed Mr. Rezaian’s challenging days of detention, the introduction of avocados in Iran and the ongoing conflict in the Middle East.
