The Divided Island with Cey Sesiguzel
Cey Sesiguzel is the director of The Divided Island, a documentary that focuses on The Cyprus Problem through archival footage and deeply personal interviews with people who lost homes and loved ones. The documentary challenges the mainstream narrative and allows the voices of those affected by the atrocities before and after the 1974 invasion to be heard. On the podcast today, Cey, a second-generation Turkish Cypriot born and raised in the UK, talks about the years he has spent researching the history of Cyprus, the journey he took to tell this story and what he learned from speaking to men and women whose lives were forever torn apart by division and hate.
