Greece responds to Turkey's threats and its dispute of Greek sovereignty in the Aegean

Turkey has been escalating its rhetoric against Greece, openly disputing Greek sovereignty of its east Aegean islands. In fact, this week Erdogan threatened that Turkey is prepared to issue “a warning at the highest level” to Greece if Athens doesn’t change its position with regards to the demilitarization of the Aegean islands. Greece’s foreign ministry officially protested these comments and instructed Greek embassies to brief the EU, NATO and the members of the UN Security Council on the escalation of Turkey’s provocations. Meanwhile, Foreign Minister Dendias also issued a strong response to Turkey during his trip to Norway which went viral. Vassilis Nedos, Kathimerini’s diplomatic and defense editor, joins our host Thanos Davelis to talk about Turkey’s dispute of Greek sovereignty in the Aegean, President Erdogan's latest "warning" to Greece, and the response from Athens and Foreign Minister Nikos Dendias.
