Migration challenges and the deal to reform the EU asylum agency

In the first sign of any real movement on the migration issue in the EU in the past five years, member states reached a deal this week to strengthen the EU’s asylum agency. Angeliki Dimitriadi is Senior Research Fellow and Head of the Migration Programme at ELIAMEP - the Hellenic Foundation for European and Foreign Policy - where her research focuses on Europe, particularly front-line countries and countries of transit.
