What is Turkey's Blue Homeland doctrine?

Professor Ryan Gingeras joins us today to discuss Turkey’s controversial Blue Homeland doctrine which was highlighted in the Washington Post this weekend, its author retired Admiral Cem Gurdeniz, and what Blue Homeland means for Turkey’s neighbors in the Eastern Mediterranean.

Ryan Gingeras is a professor in the Department of National Security Affairs at the Naval Postgraduate School and is an expert on Turkish, Balkan, and Middle East history. Professor Gingeras is also the author of the piece “Blue Homeland: The Heated Politics Behind Turkey’s New Maritime Strategy”.
